Devlog 1 - Announcement of Isominer Project - v0.5

This is my first game project, Isominer.  I will share my past twitter devlogs and new devlogs with more details. In this devlog, I will share how I start to develop my first game.

I am a web developer and a mathematics student. I have a game ideas which are dreams to play for me. I started to learn game development, start with a coursera course, installed Unity and tried tutorials. I decided to take it a little further and best way to learn is developing a project for me. So, I decide a simple but has many mechanics mobile game to develop. Since I love space and space games, this game should be a space themed game too. I started with Isometric view but I think that I can use advantages of 3D space, so I develop game in 3D space but generally, it is a isometric game. Game should have common mechanics to learn and enjoy such as: shooting objects, upgrading modules, difficulty, stage, level, experience point. This is a hard task to me for as a first project but I trust my coding skills and started to plan.

First, I make brainstorming with my friends, asked their opinions and note every idea. I use Trello for organizing them with ease  and taking notes about ideas. Than I split them in two categories, Ideas and Tasks. I started with a few tasks and plan them into sub-tasks, note details and what they are and what they will be in task descriptions. Tasks list grow fast and I split them into planned main version lists (v0.2, v0.3 etc.). Since I just started, I focuses game mechanics tasks, but later on, tasks become varied. So I split them into Plan, Code - Entegration, Visual, Audio lists and tagged with priority tags Game Mechanic, Enhancement, Detail. Before this arrangement and plans, this project confusing me a lot and I take 1-2 weeks breaks because of overwhelm feeling. Now, I am working with  a clear and ease mind.

I must say that experiencable updates and versions are really is a motivating elements of game development but focusing on game mechanics, not the details but the bigger changes and enhancing the game is more important than a good effects and animations at first. I share every major updates with my friends, some of them want to see good visual effects, some of them want new mechanics such as enemy and bosses, but every of them interested in and it encouraged me. Sharing is very important when developing a game project, especially if you are developing it as solo since the release is look so far when beginnings of the project and it is important to reaching people to hear feedback about them along the project. This is from v0.6.

I also must add that I want to share tutorials later.
